Natosha Wilson rated it 5 of 5 stars (it was amazing)
This book turned out to be so much better then I figured that it would be by the description of the book. It is full of adventure, danger, jealousy, love, acceptance, and trust.
Sean was bound and determined that Yates aka Yana was dirty and was up to no good but that could not have been further from the truth. Once Sean finds out the truth about Yana and finally gets to know who he is he finally gives in to the feelings he has been having towards him even when he thought that he was bad.
Through the time that Yana and Sean get to know more about one another their bond grows and grows. They face all the bad together and enjoy all of the good. With every turn of event that comes their way, they grow stronger and closer until they can not imagine their lives without each other. Then their little family grows just a little more when Mickey (Seans nephew) joins them on home and resides that he wants to follow In their foot steps as a peace keeper. These three men will face everything together and will come out on the winning side together because they have one another.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was so action packed that there was not a full minute through the whole course of the book. I think many more will enjoy reading it also.

I enjoyed this series very much. I love cop stories so a story that involves a cop and another cop from another universe is heaven.

This here is sort of an enemies to lovers story. The enemy part doesn’t last long lol. Paranormal stories are always touch and go with me. Sometimes they blow my mind and other times they fall flat. Home was different than some I’ve read. Donna McIntosh is creating a world here. Never an easy thing to do. I love the world Yanas comes from. I love the little things and big things. How they handle money, transport, peace. That was all very cool! I wouldn’t mind living there at all.
As fabulous as the world up above was the world below (Earth) was, well, horrible lol. But we all live there so we know. Sean is an LAPD cop and that is fine, but at forty two you’re really a part of that unit. You’ve been doing it a long time. He’s an outcast by his own doing and he has a Captain who really cares a lot about Sean and I found Sean rather rude to him. Very dismissive and the whole “men in blue” bond that is VERY strong in the police force wasn’t there. It was like Sean had a side job after school and when he quit it was like, “See ya.” The cop relationship was written too fast and with little compassion.
That said, the total opposite is to be said of the world above. It’s written with descriptive eloquence. The characters are individually enjoyable. The time is taken there where it’s rushed on Earth. I think because the world above is so brilliantly written it made the difference so glaring to me.
This is a paranormal love story. It’s suspenseful in certain parts and wildly creative.

Star Trek meets Doctor Who with an added twist., April 21, 2016
Exciting start.
Yates/Yana belongs to a group called the Peace Keepers and lives in a city in space. Sean is a detective and has no idea such a force is possible, let alone exists as a satellite to Earth. Sean is convinced Yates is ‘dirty’ and desperately wants to pin something on him. So, he gets a shock when Yates saves him from an assassination attempt and takes him HOME.
For me I found HOME to be somewhat like – Star Trek meets Dr. Who, with an added twist. Only the tales are being told from the POV of one of the civilizations they visit, rather than from the Enterprise or Tardis. It is also a book of two parts. The first part concentrates on the revelations of HOME, and the relationship between Sean and Yates (aka Yana), the second half is mission orientated. At which time, we are treated to a view of what else is ‘out there’. Some of it is scary. Some of it is erotic. It comes down to personal preference on action vs. romance as to which anyone will favour.
HOME has a good cast of varied individuals, from cute little Evie, and the best friend - Aaron, to a diverse range of aliens. I have to admit, Aaron was my fav.
As with most books, there are highs, lows and everything in between. And yes, some missions left me with questions, but how much detail a writer goes into is one of the choices an author has to make. Science fiction can be a minefield of tangents. Also, I’m no technical expert, so can’t comment on what is theoretically possible, all I know, is, what is believable, and HOME didn’t have me heading for Google. Damn, I so wish it was real to have a lover who could appear out of nowhere to be with me at my time of need. Oh and the possibilities of avoiding traffic jams. At that part, I was officially jealous. The sex is hot too – Sean is a pro at giving head.
I love science fiction, but, for me, a highlight was seeing Sean at his day job, it added some grounding and reality to the proceedings. However, once Sean and Yana go on missions, situations get dicey, to the point where their faith and trust in each other is tested.
HOME has a lot in it and reading it was like reading the series movie and following episodes. By now, you guys know I don’t do spoilers. What I will say is that HOME contains lizards, a pleasure planet, capture, jealousy, heartache, two stubborn foolhardy men, harvesters, family issues and a host of situations. If that sounds up your street, beam this to an electronic device near you.

Land of the Book Fairies
My Review
4 Stars
I am a reader of psi-fi from way back. I started reading Asimov, Heinlein and Bradbury when I was eleven. I enjoy the science, the tech, the sociological and psychological theories intertwined in psi-fi stories. I look for complexity and creativity in the world building and character and plot development.
I’m also, more recently, a reader of romance. I have had the pleasure to beta for several great authors and work alongside a few more. I need well-developed characters and realistic character and plot development. I want to feel the bond between the main characters. I also think there needs to be a reason why the characters are together.
As a romance, this really works for me. The character development, the romantic intrigue, the plot, the story arc, it all comes together. It works.
I had a few issues with the psi-fi part. There were little glitches for me when it came to the technology. For example, I wondered why sometimes the transporter worked from basically anywhere and other times you had to drive to meet someone and then transport. These were little details that could easily have an explanation, and it might have been fun to know, but these little things didn’t take me out of the story too much.
The world building was quite good, as were the little socio-economic commentaries.
It was quite a good story and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Home is a re-release of what used to be a series but now published as one novel for the sake of continuity. There is more than just one story going on here and basically, there is the longish first part where Yana and Sean's relationship develops into a full romance. The second, and succeeding parts are a collection of what I think to be an anthology-like collection of short stories taking place a year after Sean joins Yana on Home, or the satellite way up in the sky hovering over Earth and manned by people called the Peace Keepers. But I am getting ahead of myself, so let me backtrack a bit.
Sean is an LAPD detective and for years has been after this one criminal by the name of Mitchell Yates. One day said criminal saves his life and in one blink he finds himself healed almost instantaneously and aboard what seems to be, not a spaceship really, but an airborne facility that screams of highly advanced technology. Sean has a difficult time accepting what may not be reality but is also finding himself more and more attracted to Yates who is really Yana. Their romance builds until Sean makes the decision to leave Earth and be with Yana on this version of a eutopic society. Fast forward one year later, Sean uses his skills as a former LAPD detective and joins Yana on missions. These missions are treated episodic and each time we see the development between Yana's and Sean's relationship.
Overall, this was a very light read as each episode begins and ends but continues the personal stories of the main and secondary characters. There is Aaron and his angel child, Evie, there is the enigmatic healer whose importance is downplayed, the Elders whose roles are not expanded much so I don't really know all that I want to know about them, and then there is Jimmy whose character never reached a resolution.
The science fiction world is built around the real world and other than the mention of supreme beings other than the Elders nothing else is added. I get the feeling this is not the end of Sean and Yana's story (ies) and really wish there was more. The episodes are entertaining in that they are short episodes of some action and adventure.
