Jason Willoby (excerpt)
He was there a couple of weeks before he realized that he was living in a gay-friendly neighborhood. The knowledge both thrilled and terrified him. He'd seen couples walking the streets holding hands, laughing and talking. Other couples with their arms linked as they shopped. This was San Francisco. This was his dream. He had never been so scared in all his life!
His first actual experience left a lot to be desired. He had read a great deal about such meetings but had never had the nerve to actually try it until one Saturday night he was in a little bar a few blocks from his apartment. He had walked by a couple of times before he finally got the courage to go inside and order a beer.
It wasn't long before someone sat on the stool next to him. “Evening.”
“Evening,” he said back and ducked his head after taking a quick look at the stranger beside him. Not much older than he
was. He smells good, Jason thought – aftershave, cigarettes, and beer. He breathed in deeply the scent of the man who looked to be a few inches taller than himself.
“You meeting someone?” The stranger asked.
“No. I just moved here a few weeks ago. I don't know anyone.” Jason said before taking another sip of his beer.
“I don't suppose you'd like to step into the back with me?” The stranger nodded towards the restroom sign.
Jason gulped. This is what he wanted; this was what he had dreamed about for years. Now that it was happening he was scared to death. “What for?” His voice was barely above a whisper.
“Just a quickie. I gotta be home in an hour when my old lady gets home from work.”
Jason met his eyes and nodded a quick 'yes' then followed him back to the hallway where the rest room sign flickered in red. They stepped into the rest room and the stranger turned the lock on the door knob. “What do you want?”
Jason was too choked up and scared to speak but he glanced down at the stranger's bulge.
“My name is Benny,” the stranger said as he undid his pants and dropped them.
