Short but a Thriller

4 Stars
A short but taut thriller. Lots of dialogue and not much narrative until later in the story but that doesn't detract at all. It's a terse, back-and-forth, reminiscent of a bit of Dragnet. The tension between Mitch and Tanner is there, adding to the anxiety over finding the missing Kenny, and it all adds up to an enjoyable tale.

Secret Cravings
A LUSTROUS EFFORT !
Donna McIntosh has delivered a police drama that is an easy read. It's fast paced, with lusty robust characters that serve up & live up to today's modern appeal.
A savory morsel, a quick read before bed time or on a lazy warm rainy afternoon! A luscious thriller that evokes the reader to root for the plucky leading man and his semi fretful ex-captain to soar high above their differences, fulfilling needs & succeeding in ways beyond their wildest dreams!
The grisliness of the criminals is matched & balanced by the equal heart & grit of the detectives that make their mark in this steamy story of unlikely, but fitting, pairings of partners in crime, partners in law, partners in lust, & in love !
A summer savory, you may find yourself, as I have, wanting much more from this author !

Sensual Reads
_
"Donna McIntosh takes us quite a roller coaster ride with
Tanner, the story of two people who may finally find each other."
Peter Tanner has no problem attracting anyone he wants. Sexy, popular and very handsome, Tanner really only wanted one man- his boss on PHX PD, Mike Mitchelson. Unfortunately, the two only butted heads and Tanner left the PD to become a PI, where they continued to butt heads.
Mitch was not happy that Tanner left the PD. He was even more unhappy that Tanner featured in all his hot dreams at night. He hated those feelings and wanted nothing to do with Tanner. But when one of his detectives goes missing, Mitch knows Tanner, the missing man’s ex-partner, is just the man he needs. He is just not sure he can work with Tanner and survive.
Donna McIntosh did a beautiful job of bringing these heroes to life. They are realistic, loveable and more than anything they make you want a happy ending for them. The plot was suspenseful and kept you reading until the end. In fact, Tanner is the type of book that if you have a few minutes and need a quick read, you might want to pull this one out and read it again. Short, sweet and quite complete, Donna McIntosh’s Tanner will leave you satisfied and yet wanting more. A fantastic job for Donna McIntosh.

Peter Tanner is a popular private detective who used to work for the PHX PD. Mike Mitchels, or Mitch, is a Captain in the PHX PD. Mitch needs Tanner’s help because Kenny, Samantha’s lover, is missing. Samantha is a very good friend to both Peter and Mitch. She knows Kenny would not just up and leave her.
Tanner has haunted Mitch’s dreams for a long time; he’s always wanted him but couldn’t be with him when he worked for the PHX PD. Now with both of them working to find Kenny, they might be able to explore just what they can be to each other.
Tanner by Donna McIntosh is a short but well written story. There is a good balance of action and adventure with a hot and steamy romance which kept me reading and wanting more. Tanner and Mitch have a great emotional connection, which just jumps off the pages. I fell in love with both of these characters. Ms. McIntosh is a new author to me and after reading Tanner, I know I’ll be looking for more of her work in the future.
